he Islamic-Christian Committee in Support of Jerusalem and its Sanctuaries has warned of the escalation of the forced displacement campaign practiced by the Israeli occupation authorities against Bedouin communities in the suburbs of Jerusalem.
The Committee said in a statement today, Wednesday, that dozens of notices distributed to Bedouin families, asking them to leave and vacate their homes, constitute a dangerous and systematic escalation in the policy of ethnic cleansing.
The Committee called on the international community to take further action and efficient steps, as per international law and Geneva conventions, to protect the Palestinians from forced displacement and eviction from their lands, considering the distribution of dozens of notifications to the Bedouin families calling for them to leave and evict their homes, as dangerous and systematic escalation in the policy of ethnic cleansing.
The committee confirmed that such notifications that coincide with the unprecedented seizure of lands, demolition of homes and construction of thousands of settlement units, underscore the intention of the occupation to pursue the expansion of its open war against Jerusalem with its entire components, pointing out that the Israeli entity has crossed the whole red lines in its practices against the Palestinians and bent for rushing toward altering the demographic nature of the sacred city and imposing the Jewish nature on it by force.
The occupation authorities have recently distributed dozens of notifications to several Bedouin families ordering them to leave and evict their homes located in the vicinity of Jerusalem in favor of the settlement expansion.
The supervisor of the "Al-Baydar" Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights, Hassan Mleihat, said that "the policy of displacement, deportation and notifications aims to uproot Bedouin communities from the vicinity of the occupied city of Jerusalem and to replace them with Israeli illegal settlers.
