The annual statistical report issued by the National Association of families of martyrs in Palestine showed that the number of martyrs during the year 2021 reached (357), as a result of being targeted by the Israeli occupation forces.

The Secretary-General of the Association of families of martyrs, Muhammad Sbeihat, said that the percentage of female martyrs this year reached (19%), which is the highest percentage in the history of Israeli criminality, since the occupation of Palestine in 1948.

Sbeihat explained that the percentage of child martyrs exceeded (22%), indicating that the reason for these high rates is the instructions given to the occupation soldiers from the highest Israeli political and military level regarding shooting, and also the absence of any controls that limit the targeting of the defenseless Palestinians, regardless of age or gender.

Sbeihat added that the international silence towards the crimes committed by the occupation against the Palestinian people encourages it to target Palestinians, of all age groups, noting that despite the difficult circumstances the world is going through, including Palestine, represented by the Corona pandemic, which limits the movement of citizens, the Israeli occupation continues its terrorist attacks against the Palestinian people.

Sbeihat urged the international community and its humanitarian institutions, and the competent authorities in the Palestinian National Authority, especially the Ministries of Justice and Foreign Affairs, to prosecute the occupation and its soldiers before international courts, and hold them accountable for their crimes, which are considered war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The following are the highlights of the statistical report issued by the Association:

1- The number of female martyrs is (357).

2- The number of martyrs from the southern governorates, the Gaza Strip, is (257).

3- The number of martyrs from the northern governorates, the West Bank, is (100).

4- The number of child martyrs is (79), which constitutes (22%) of the total number.

5- The number of female martyrs is (69), which constitutes (19%) of the total number.

6- The youngest martyrs are:

• The martyr Muhammad Salama Muhammad Abu Dayyeh (one year old), who was martyred on May 13, 2021, in Jabalia.
• The martyr Ibrahim Muhammad Ibrahim Al-Rantisi (one year old), who was martyred on May 13, 2021, in Rafah.
• The martyr Muhammad Zain Muhammad Mahmoud al-Attar (one year old), who was martyred on May 14, 2021, in Beit Lahia
• The martyr Qusai Sameh Fawaz Al-Qoulaq (one year old), who was martyred on May 16, 2021, in Gaza.

7- The oldest martyr is the martyr Amin Muhammad Hamad Al-Qoulaq, 90 years old, from Gaza, who was martyred on May 16, 2021.

8- The average age of the martyrs is 27 years.

9- The bloodiest month was May 2021, during which the number of martyrs reached (286).
