The Israeli occupation municipality in Jerusalem has approved two settlement plans in the city, one of which aims to build a settlement building and a commercial floor.
The first plan aims to build a new settlement neighborhood under the settlement of "Ramot", which is built on the lands of the "Lefta" area that extends to the southwestern border of the village of "Beit Iksa" north of occupied Jerusalem.
The second plan aims to build a settlement building and a commercial floor in "Beit Hakerem" near the settlement of "Givat Havaredim" in occupied Jerusalem.
Both plans include dozens of settlement units. A park, a horse stable and buildings erected by a settler will be removed below the villages of Beit Iksa, northwest of occupied Jerusalem.
According to the decision, 270 settlement units will be built, parallel to the bridge at the top of the mountain opposite the Palestinian village of Lifta.
Israeli and Palestinian estimates indicate that there are about 650,000 settlers in the West Bank settlements, including occupied Jerusalem, distributed among 164 settlements and 124 outposts.
International law considers the West Bank and Jerusalem to be occupied territories, and all settlement building activities there are illegal there.
